Get those crafty hands ready for some DIY hair action. The sun can cause your hair to turn brittle and dry without the proper care. But don’t worry – we’re your Summer Sixteen hair saviors *insert prayer hand emoji*. Without further adieu, here are four killer DIY hair masks to take your hair from fried to fabulous:

Banana Honey Hair Mask

Despite being delicious enough to eat, this hair mask is perfect to add moisture to your dry hair. Puree the banana and add the other ingredients to avoid chunks getting in your hair. With vitamins, antioxidants and potassium – your hair will thank you!

  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt

Leave in for approx. 30 minutes to 1 hour. Rinse with water.

Strawberry Hair Mask

We all know how yummy strawberries can be during the summer but they will also work wonders for your hair. Although strawberries alone are packed with vitamin C – the ingredients also include honey and coconut oil. Talk about the trifecta of moisture!

  • 5 to 7 strawberries (blend well)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Blend all ingredients until a puree is formed. Work mixture into damp hair and massage into roots. Rinse with water.

Nourishing Hair Mask

This protein-rich mask is not only drool-worthy, it helps strengthen hair and protect it from the sun’s rays. The combination of yogurt, lemon juice and one egg gives your hair the protective kick it needs for the summer heat.

  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg

Apply after cleansing and leave in for 20 minutes before rinsing out with warm water

Coconut Milk Hair Mask

We’ve heard the magical properties of coconut oil but have you ever tried coconut milk? Aside from tasting delish with your morning coffee, it works as a natural moisturizer for your hair. This overnight mask will have you waking up with hair that could make Beyoncé jealous (ok not really, but close enough!)

  • 2 tablespoons coconut milk
  • 2 drops lavender oil

Mix both ingredients and apply root to tip. Sleep with mixture in hair in a shower cap. Shampoo and condition in the morning.

Avocado Deep Conditioning Hair Mask

We all know how delicious avocados taste but did you know they’re miracle workers for your hair? Run over to your nearest grocery store and grab an Avocado from Mexico and you can thank the avo-gods later 😉

  • 1 fully ripened Avocado from Mexico
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons organic raw honey

Slice the avocado in half, scoop out the flesh and mix the coconut oil and raw honey together in a bowl. Mix until smooth. Apply to hair. Pop a shower cap on and let sit for 60 minutes. Rinse.

Get ready to slay this summer like no other!
