Canadian Music Week wrapped on Sunday night, and it will probably take us a couple of days to fully recover from all the late nights of local and international talent.
Here are our CMW 2017 highlights:
The Honest Heart Collective Showcase
Thunder Bay rock band, The Honest Heart Collective kicked off the first night of CMW in Toronto at Adelaide Hall. Check out CanadianBeats.ca for a photo review of the show.
The State of Social Media Speaker
This is a topic very near and dear to our hearts here #OnTheFourthFloor. Gavin McGarry delivered some great points, with a main takeaway being, if you don’t have a Pinterest strategy, avoid emojis and upload to Facebook from your desktop, your social media game-plan sucks.

2017 INDIES Awards
Held at The Phoenix Concert Theatre, The 2017 Indie Awards showcased Canada’s best indie artists and bands with A Tribe Called Red taking home an award for Album of The Year, and The Strumbellas racked up both Songwriters and Best Single Awards, see a full list of winners here.
Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards
Thursday night at the Sheraton Hotel was the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards. Rush, Arthur Fogel, Marilyn Denis and Jann Arden attended the event and received awards for their contribution to the music industry.
Check out the full list of winners here.
Aussie Night Out
Not only is CMW for Canadian acts, but international acts are included as well. Thursday night was an Aussie showcase featuring headliner, Silver Love Club.
The unreal lineup of talent for iHeartRadio Fest took place at Rebel Nightclub on Friday. One of the biggest events during Canadian Music Week, iHeartRadio Fest upholds its position as the Friday night ‘place to be’.
