Monday, May 1 – Friday, May 19: Maximum Exposure 22
Maximum Exposure is an annual year-end exhibition, held in May, that showcases the work of the best young emerging Canadian and international artists attending Ryerson University’s School of Image Arts. Featured as part of the Scotiabank’s CONTACT Photography Festival, Maximum Exposure exhibits multidisciplinary work produced by photography, film, new media and integrated digital students in a professional gallery setting.
Tuesday, May 2: Spelling Bae
It’s the first Tuesday of the month, meaning it’s time to flex those spelling skills. Head down to The Ossington for 8 p.m. and battle it out with fellow word lovers for prizing and bragging rights.
Tuesday, May 2: InStore: An Immersive Event on the Future of Retail
Websites are behaving more like stores, and stores are behaving more like websites. Whether it’s mobile ordering or interactive mirrors, retailers are innovating to offer rich experiences that dissolve the distinction between bricks and clicks.
As the line between digital and physical continues to blur in all aspects of life, we’re asking, what are the implications for retail? What will the store of the future look like? How and where will the customer of tomorrow shop? In reply, Electric Runway has teamed up with Digital Main Street, the City of Toronto, ModiFace and the Design Exchange, to bring you InStore: an immersive event on the future of retail.
Friday, May 5 – Cinco de Mayo at Steam Whistle

Join the Steam Whistle team at the brewery for their annual Cinco de Mayo Party. There will be: Margaritas, delicious Mexican eats, DJ, photo station, tequila and more freshly brewed Pilsner than you can shake a Pinata at. Friday, May 5 – Saturday, May 6: SHHHH Vol. 2
Raw Materials is thrilled to announce the second instalment of ‘SHHHHH’, an annual event consisting of diverse musical programming at the Parkdale Public Library. The performances will be spread over two days, all free and accessible to the general public. The May 5 sets will take place on the main floor of the library (7-8 p.m.), while May 6 sets will happen in the basement auditorium (1-5 p.m. / accessible by stairs or elevator).
